Magic Seasons Romance
While I was working on this series and restoring or adding scenes to the books, the characters started talking to me again and there WILL be more books in this series ... I don't know when yet because I have too many others on the go right now, but there will be more in the future. 😊
I'd like to say I will now get my blog pages and site updated, but I'm still in the midst of working on the third book in my J.Risk Alterealm series as well as more books in the Animal Senses series. I will however update the TBR list on my sites and be posting some new excerpts on this blog soon.

Heart is now available!!
This was originally called Animal Trilogy - as I intended to write only three books ... however, after writing the second and third I decided there were far too many wonderful characters to get to know.
She crept back out of the room being careful to not make a sound, debating for half a second whether she should close the door or just leave it. She left it. Every instinct was telling her to get out of there, fast.
Rayne left Chicago that morning, with a random poke a map sending her, wholly unprepared, into the wilderness. Needing a place to regroup and find a new direction, she could never have imagined what she’d find in a remote Ontario town.
Reclusive lone wolf Devin guards his isolation and solitude while he avoids taking his rightful place in the pack. Painting and avoiding his mother’s phone calls occupy his waking hours until Rayne appears, smelling of flowers, hiding secrets, and awakening his wolf.
Changes are coming for Rayne, and her ignorance of the world she knows nothing about save fiction stories soon come clear as danger approaches and choices must be made.

Magic Seasons Book 3 is out!!
Armed with magic and a plan...
Step into a world of magic and passions....
Take a dash of spice, heat it a pinch of herbs.
Soft candlelight and resonant drums.
Add a flash of magic and watch the sparks fly.
Toss in a killer that's targeting women...
Armed with magic and a plan for the Lammas festival they are determined to stop the killer from harming anyone again. And Steven will, with a plan of his own, persuade Rachel that they are meant to be together.
Will the magic allow them to start anew?
Rachel is a woman that lives carefree with a buoyant recklessness. She loves being a flirt and has spent many years indulging that side of her personality. Her energy draws others; her character is to protect all those that cannot protect themselves. When she’s not riding on life, she is helping children less fortunate then herself.
Steven is man that gives more than his energy usually allows. He is a highly-respected pediatrician that always goes that extra step to ensure all in his care are receiving his utmost attention. He often sacrifices sleep to spend time with his friends, and he can’t seem to help affably chasing the skirt of the one woman that breaks his easy-going charm and makes him forget he’s supposed to be the jovial. He hides his strength in body and magic, never letting others know that he is more than the carefree man with everything he needs.
Armed with magic and a plan for the Lammas festival as a group they are determined to stop the killer from harming anyone again. With a plan of his own, Steven decides he’s done waiting for Rachel to see that they’re meant to be together and takes things into his own hands.

Magic Seasons Romance Book 2 is out!
Passion and magic that burns
Step into a world of magic and passions....
Take a dash of spice, add a flash of magic and watch the sparks fly
Toss in a killer that's targeting women and add a handful of witches from all paths to stir it all together...
Separated by two different life styles yet their passion and magic ignite sparks hotter than the Solstice heat. Can they work out a way to be together as they try to stop a killer from striking again?
Kasey is a woman that exudes energy and brightness; equally passionate when angry or happy. Her energy comes through in all her magic, and she often wishes she could rewrite her own story to become charming and sophisticated enough to be with a certain wealthy male lawyer she wants more than anything else.
Chris is a force of strength and experience carefully hidden behind the easy mannerisms he has adopted. There is nothing he cannot do with his magic and he has tried all of it, whether right or wrong. His fortune has left him wanting for nothing in life except the one thing money can’t buy, the woman he feels too unclean to approach.

Running to catch up...
I haven't had a lot of time to keep up on blog posts since I decided to climb back into the world of writing. Having decided to completely rework several books, covers, content, promotion and all the other bits that go along with that ... all while writing new stories... lets just say I'm running to get ahead of the game!
I may almost be winning the race at this point. I just finished the third book for what was the Animal Trilogy and decided there will be more than 3 books in that series. There are just too many wonderful characters to write just three stories. SO stay tuned for those.
Many covers have been redone, even for books not being re-released with new content - so before you message me in a panic, keep that in mind. It takes time for vendors to get updates out there. (and time for me to get the new versions up on my site and blog)
My next few books you will see are as follows:
TBR APRIL
TBR MAY
TBR JUNE
For a complete list check out my website (I have had time to do that) COMING SOON

Finding THAT song... #MFRWauthor
Sometimes getting your characters to cooperate and do what you think they should do only takes the right song to be playing in your ears while you write.
Then again sometimes no matter what you do they are not going to toe the line and do anything you wanted 😀
Then again sometimes no matter what you do they are not going to toe the line and do anything you wanted 😀
I don’t know how other writers work but
when I’m deep in a story I use music to help me focus and connect with the
story and characters.
Café Serenity’s characters had quite a
different song list than I usually listen to.
The songs are usually background for me to give me certain emotions and
feelings, in Serenity’s case the music was feared for the characters more than
my emotions. I was also able to put the characters favorite song in the story –
it helps the quiet café by day is a bar by night. J
Pascal’s favorite song is House Rules by Christian Kane – probably
not your typical vampire song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Z1NPihh6oA
Attis’ is Give Me a Reason by Three Days Grace … a little more vampire for
sure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tWBt_j2ayM
The females in the story preferred
something a little heavier than my vamps did; Ladies Come First by Hinder was their song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXSPy9BunX8
I could go on for pages about music and how
it helps with my writing or my mood in general, but I prefer people to stay
awake when they read anything I’ve written.
I may have to write more stories in bars or
clubs so I can incorporate my work music into the plot a little more
often. My beta readers said it gave them
a feel for the character to know their music preference - for me it just helps take me where my
characters are trying to lead.

Magic Seasons Romance Book I re-release!
The Magic Seasons was my first (serious) step
into the world of writing and like everything else I do, I jumped in full speed
ahead! The first book was written in
2006 (as a prank and ‘last’ word with a friend) and then we discovered it was
good and that I could write.
I spent
the next few years writing more, finally having Beltane published in 2009. Then again in 2012. THIS edition is the final and best version.
Thank you to the editors and proofreaders for
rounds one and two, I know it wasn’t easy to correct for grammar and flow
without losing how I saw my story and characters.
Beltane the season for
renewal of life, love and danger…
Step into a world of magic and
passion…
A group of friends come together to dance the Maypole
Take a dash of spice, a pinch of herbs
Soft candlelight and resonant drums
Add a flash of magic and watch the sparks fly
Toss in a killer that’s targeting women…
To the outside
world she is just Leena Duncan. A gentle woman with a troubled past,
yet none know her full story. Her ability to control the elements and her
knowledge of plants make her magic strong and unbreakable. It’s just too bad
that she’s closed off her heart to not risk it again, having learned that horrors are possible, even with those who
claim to love you. It only takes one man at the
rainy Beltane celebration to change her outlook, and one killer to endanger her
world.
Owen Grey, a well-known fantasy
author, has returned to his childhood home to set down roots and reacquaint himself
with old friends. Learning that magic is, in fact, possible, the second
revelation is the one woman who calls to him: body, soul and heart. Even more
surprising, he learns that with a simple touch he can relieve pain and lift
emotional burdens, it just doesn’t help him deal with his own past.
While he may write about happily ever after, he knows it only as
fiction. Until her.
With a
killer targeting celebrants at these small pagan gatherings, leaving two bodies
in warning, this little group of friends who welcomed him with open arms, are
at risk if they don’t find the killer.

Wednesday's Book Hook - Cafe Serenity #MFRWhook #MFWRauthor
When he lowered his hand
from her mouth, as if testing to see if she was going to scream it dawned on
her what was happening. “I guess you didn’t do your research,” she whispered
roughly. “Because if you did, you’d know none of that supernatural gobbley-guck
works on me.”
The hand that had been
over her mouth wrapped around her throat in a hold tight enough to prevent her
from swallowing. “Vampires can’t compel me. Spells don’t work on me,” she
gasped. “I’m completely resistant to your kind.”
Café Serenity
When Paranormal meets
Normal, the last thing you’ll find is Serenity.
Something in Riverside is attacking those connected to Café Serenity, one of the local hangouts.
The
not-quite human owner and her misfit group of anything but human friends and
employees band together with the police to solve the mystery.
Simple task: just work with or around the Paranormal council of Elders, discover unknown soul mates, protect each other, and do it all without arising the suspicion or notice of the normal in town.

My best friend ... #MFRWauthor
It may be cliche that I consider my best friend to be my dog... but it's true.
On Christmas day 2015 I lost my other best friend, Misti. I used to call her my assistant (still do on my website). She was an awesome assistant, always listened to my rambling about characters and plots. It didn't matter where I was writing, she was there.
It was lonely without her, I looked for her each day in her favorite spots, found myself talking to an empty room - because she wasn't under my desk when I was writing.
In August my girls talked me into go to the humane society "just too look". How could I refuse going to look at cats, kittens, puppies and dogs? I couldn't. So we went.
I knew I could never have another "Misti" in my world. She had been the fourth Golden Retriever I'd lost in my life time and I just couldn't do it again. With that in mind we asked to meet a fellow so far from my calm, docile but playful Misti that there was no way he could remind me of her.
When he came in he was hyper and wary. His past wasn't a good one at all! I could feel every bone in his body under that fluffy fur when I touched him 😟 It was heart breaking when they told us what he had been through ... and worse still was that he'd already been returned to them once because the previous adopters weren't prepared to handle him.
Twenty years earlier I ran a dog rescue and brought in every size, breed and age of dog to retrain and find new homes for. I didn't know if I had the energy to do it again - BUT there was no way I was leaving this beautiful mistreated guy in the hands of someone that would mishandle him again ... EVER!
They saw my determination and the connection we made and accelerated the adoption process ... two hours later I went to pick up my new friend. All while thinking "what am I going to do with him?"
He was scared, defensive, skittish ... and I knew all the signs and it would come with biting, acting out (I had five kids ... I know ALL the signs!!) and for the next three weeks the two of us "bonded" and battled it out to see who was THE alpha in our two bodied pack.
Five months later ...
we've decided ... I am THE alpha in our pack ...
He is spoiled, but obedient (to me) ...
I am the safest woman in the neighborhood ...
I still have to watch for his tells when he's nervous or unsure, and be careful in some situations so no one gets bitten or lunged at. I have a six foot tall gate in my side of the house so it's just he and I most of the time.
He is NOT an assistant type of dog ... in fact if I work too long he pounces at my feet, stands on my table and barks at me if I go too long without paying attention to him.
I'm not sure who rescued whom some days, but every day is an adventure with him!
Meet my Best friend, Niko!

When all you can do is try to survive…
I have so many "pretty" banners and things to go with my books now ... fair warning I will be splashing them where ever I can 😛
10 chapters FREE!
After the Silence Volume 1 –
Bree
One woman’s journey through the chaotic new world.
When Mother Nature decides she’s had enough and
begins to fight back, survival takes on a whole new meaning.
Those left standing make the paths for the future
generations.
Bree Taylor is the last survivor of her family. With no other choice she sets
off on her own to escape the clutches of the new government. Living in a world
of unstable climate changes becomes a journey she won’t soon forget.
She has to be prepared for
anything in the new country and be wary of every person she meets. All while
staying out of the path of the new army: one that does not believe in the
values of safety and security. An army answering only to the highest bidder,
tasked with rounding up the survivors of the virus. A virus that is as vicious
and random as the dramatic changes to the land and climate. Leaving trails of
dead and mutated survivors in its wake.
If the earth is the enemy – there are no rules and
all you can do is try to survive the odds.

Running in
snow this deep was like running through water. If your feet didn’t clear it you
got nowhere. I hadn’t stopped long enough to measure the height of the men
quickly gaining on me, but I was fairly certain their long legs would move
through this snow faster than my own.
As I hit
the tree line again, I hesitated long enough to pick a direction. Kismet and I
had been through this area enough times I knew most of it without thinking now.
Slipping in the snow I changed directions and headed towards the hill that led
to the river bed. If I could out-maneuver them in the densest part of the trees
I might just be able to put a big enough gap between us that they’d give up.
Chancing a
glance over my shoulder I noted one thing. They were large enough it would take
four of me to make this anywhere near equal. My heart was thrumming, pumping
blood through my veins in a chaotic beat. A part of me knew I couldn’t outrun
them, but I had to try. Turning, I bolted back towards a tight grouping of
trees. I could hear the pounding of their feet hitting the ground behind me and
had one second to regret the one time I didn’t let Kismet come with me. He
would have evened the odds.
Volume 2 KANE will be released later in 2017
Two sneak peeks of Kane have been published in novella format for a limited time, but the rest hasn't been released yet.
